Otto Link Super Tone Master "Double Ring" Metal Baritone Mouthpiece, Size 5
Vintage Otto Link "Double Ring" metal bari — size 5, 1950s Florida era, and one of the rarest pieces in the Link canon.
The Otto Link "Double Ring" Super Tone Master is among the most coveted vintage mouthpieces ever produced, and the baritone version is rarer still. The "Double Ring" designation refers to the two parallel bands cut into the brass shank — a hallmark of the Florida-era Super Tone Masters produced after Otto Link moved his operation to Pompano Beach in the early 1950s. This is a size 5, stamped E98, which collectors recognize as a production run identifier and a useful marker for dating and authenticating these pieces. The Super Tone Master represented a genuine leap forward in metal mouthpiece design at the time: a more focused chamber and refined facing curve that delivered projection and core tone well ahead of its contemporaries. The result is a dark, centered, authoritative baritone sound with the kind of resonance that modern reproductions still try to chase. Excellent condition for its age. A serious collector's piece that is equally at home on a bandstand.
